Our Exceptional Staff

What makes a Montessori education different?

Each of our teachers has been hand picked to make sure your child’s developmental needs are met and their curiosities run free. You’ll often see them searching for the most intriguing, new, and imaginative experiences the world has to offer. They make observations to discover emerging talents, interests, and goals. This approach is what makes a Montessori education unique and special.

What defines our teachers?

Passion. Passion for the individual, the talent, and the ideas of their students. They are here to provide opportunities to experience Montessori education in a hands-on, project oriented environment.  Our teachers provide an unscripted series of lessons celebrating the interests of your child. They are here to help your child connect with the world they live in.

Tamye Crutchfield, School Director

Ms. Tamye, School Director

Ms. Tamye  is the School Director and brings more than 24 years of experience in the Early Childhood Education field to Villa Montessori!

Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Ms. Tamye became a toddler teacher in 1992 where she taught the 4-year-old age group before being promoted to an Assistant Director.

Wanting a change of pace for her own young children, Ms. Tamye moved her family to Destin, Florida in 1998 where she continued her work in Early Childhood Education as a Center Director while simultaneously attending Northwest Florida State University where she studied early childhood education.  Ms.Tamye will be receiving her Montessori certification in the toddler program in early 2017 and is a member of the American Montessori Society (A.M.S.).  Ms. Tamye is also a member of NAREA, the North American Reggio Emilia Alliance.

Ms. Tamye relocated to Ohio in 2012 where she served as the #1 ranked Center Director for the nation’s largest child care provider for 3 consecutive years.  Most recently, Ms. Tamye was the Regional Manager for five centers in the Columbus area.  While helping others achieve their goals, Tamye’s passion remained inside the school……she missed directly connecting with children and families.

In her free time, Ms. Tamye enjoys spending time with her two children and travels around Ohio with The DRIVEN Foundation, a local charity whose mission is to impact under-privileged youth by providing mentorship & encouragement for those experiencing life’s challenges.

Ms. Tamye is passionate and is driven to provide the best education experience for children and is committed to being an extension of your family at VMP!
